I asked my parents to bring my film camera to Sweden when they came for a visit. My mom had the leather strap of my digital Nikon around her neck. I, on the other hand, had my three days of happiness in Lund and Stockholm with my beloved and bulky F4s. Every time people see me carrying it around they ask me why.

First picture on the first color film–me right after the ceremony in the Hall of Light. Ivan the Master… in Economics and Business Administration, a.k.a. the social media guru. Haha.

And my mom, who took that picture.

Then my father, the grill master.

And the grill itself :-P

In the car, heading to Stockholm. It’s me driving, I guess.

First picture in Stockholm–going to Gamla Stan.

My mom and I. She’s happy, isn’t she?

My mom really wants to take a blurry picture of that train.

Like this one. Mine is a bit blurrier than hers though.

My mom is proud of her pic. My father is enjoying the sunset :-P

Couldn’t help it. :-)

Just random pics. It was hard to choose 36 out of 72.

A pole right next to Kungliga Slottet. Princess Viktoria’s wedding was next week.

Yep, it’s getting darker, but it’s just 10pm. Took this one in front of Stadshuset and the tower that we were to visit on the next day.

My mom wanted to see Gamla Staden from the bridge that goes over Långholmen. It took us ages to get to it. My father really wanted to drink beer on a bench and to enjoy the lovely breeze. We did that too, but beer was 2.8%, not worth a picture. This padlock, however, was ;-)

Gamla Stan through a 50/1.8D. I hate plastic lenses that’s why I bought a nice and heavy wide lens the other day. Metal and glass in one. Good stuff.

Dedicated photographers.

D200 suits her, doesn’t it? It’s hers once I get D700.

Reflections and laughter.

More padlocks. Didn’t get the idea behind them, didn’t feel like understanding what was written on that sign.

Good doggy. Good morning, Stockholm! Day two.

A sip of Pressbyrån‘s coffee and a bite of Kanelbulle.

Nordiska Museet and my mom. Right after Vasa Museet. I’ve been there two times, but I feel like going there again. I love that place!

At the Nobel museum.

This place makes you feel kreativ. If you haven’t been there, you should visit it.

On the way to Stadshuset and the Observation tower.

Under the tower.

On the tower.

A bike.

A me.

Another bike.

My mom looking for something.

And my father driving us back home.
So, why? Because I love having two rolls of film in the pocket of my jeans. Because it takes me three minutes to take a picture. Because I can’t see the result right away but have to wait for my films to be developed and then scanned. Because I love the smell of emulsion. And because I love grainy memories like these that last forever.
Wanna see my black and white collection? Give me a couple of months to have my darkroom set up again.
Lovely pictues. Hard to determine wether you caught the city or the city caught you.
Beautiful photographs. Very nice to read the descriptions too. “Couldn’t helpt i” – :D .. Fell in love with that handlebar/bell of “another bike.” Great work as always!
Zeni, I guess we just caught each other :-P
Dilip, thanks, mate!
